How to Control Your CloudBox Remotely

Control music playing on your CloudBox from a web browser or the Pandora CloudCover mobile app.

Written by Patricia Rains

A CloudBox is assigned to a Zone in your Pandora CloudCover account. To control the CloudBox remotely, select that Zone and use Pandora CloudCover to change music or control playback.

You can remotely:

  • Change Stations, Mix Stations, or Dayparts

  • Play, pause, or skip music

  • Adjust volume

  • View what's currently playing

  • Thumbs up or thumbs down supported tracks

  • Manage other available Zone settings based on your plan and permissions

Don't see the Zone you want to control?
You may be signed in with credentials that don't have access to that Zone. Try signing out and signing back in with the username or account credentials associated with that location.

Control a CloudBox from a web browser

  1. In the player bar at the bottom of the screen, select the Zone connected to the CloudBox you want to control.

  2. Make sure you're controlling the remote CloudBox
You should see Remote or CloudBox next to the selected Zone

The player bar will show what's currently playing on that Zone and give you access to available playback controls.

Change the music

Select Music from the top navigation and choose a Business Station, Mix Station, Daypart, or Pandora Station.

Select Play Now to start the selection on the CloudBox, or Play Next to have it begin after the current song finishes.

Depending on what is currently playing, it may take a few seconds for the CloudBox to receive and begin playing the new selection.

Control a CloudBox from the Zones Dashboard

Account administrators on the Manage plan or higher can also use the Zones Dashboard to control CloudBoxes across multiple Zones or locations.

  1. Select Account at the top of Tune.

  2. Select Zones from the left navigation.

  3. Find the Zone connected to the CloudBox you want to manage.

From here, you can view the Zone's status and use available controls to manage music, playback, volume, and other Zone settings.

You can also select multiple Zones when you want to make the same change across several locations at once.

Control a CloudBox from the mobile app

You can also use the Pandora CloudCover mobile app as a remote control.

  1. Open the Pandora CloudCover app and log in.

  2. Select the Zone connected to the CloudBox you want to control.

  3. If prompted to stream Play Here or Remote, choose Remote so the app remains in remote-control mode.

  4. Use the app to change Stations, Mix Stations, Dayparts, Messages, or other available settings.

Download the free Pandora CloudCover app for iOS/Apple, Android, or Amazon.

Having trouble controlling your CloudBox?

If the CloudBox doesn't respond to a command, confirm that:

  • You've selected the correct Zone.

  • You're signed in with credentials that have access to that Zone.

  • The CloudBox is powered on.

  • The CloudBox has an active internet connection.

  • The CloudBox hasn't been muted or disconnected from your audio system.

  • Your user account has permission to manage the Zone or device.

If the CloudBox still doesn't respond, contact Pandora CloudCover Support for assistance.
